This bank holiday weekend, Wales’s Strongest Man Competition returns to Cardiff International Sport Stadium for another year of exciting challenges and can also be viewed from the comfort of your own home.
The event will take place Sunday 30th of August starting at 1pm with five strenuous events taking place to test the athletes strength to the limit.
The powerful competitors will be competing in this part of the UK’s Strongest Man Qualifying tour with the hope of winning the title.
Events featured in this year’s competition will include the Dumbbell Medley, Truck Arm Over Arm, Husafell Stone, Brick Deadlift and Car Hold which will require all competitors to lift and hold a car for as long as possible.
These events do not only test the competitors physical strength but also their brainpower as they are forced to stay calm and focused under immense pressure.
This year’s event will see the 2025 Champion, Jamie Nelson from Carmarthenshire, competing again guaranteeing a thrilling competition as he states online that he is “more hungry for this one than the last one”.
However, whether Jamie Nelson or another strong competitor like Matt Dimond take the title and the glory this year’s showdown will be one to watch as there has been one major change regarding this year’s competition.
For the first time Wales’s Strongest Man competition will be live on National TV.
The show will be available to watch on S4C from 1pm on Sunday marking a landmark movement for the Sport and honouring the hard work that has gone into growing the Sport within Wales.
This change will make the show available to watch across Wales, hopefully encouraging more interest in the sport and potentially inspiring future talents.
The competition will be on from 1pm- 5pm and tickets to watch the event in person are still available on Eventbrite.co.uk with reduced prices for children under 15.
Whether you are an avid, loyal supporter going to see the event in person or a casual viewer watching at home with your family this year’s competition will provide great entertainment for the bank holiday weekend.
