Dr Sarah E. Hooper is a microbiologist and Reader in Microbiology and Infection at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Her research explores the microbes that cause chronic wound infections and how communities of bacteria, known as biofilms, contribute to delayed healing and treatment failure. She is particularly interested in developing realistic laboratory models that can accelerate the discovery and testing of new wound therapies, helping to improve outcomes for people living with long-term wounds.
